“Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” isn’t just a clever turn of phrase—it’s a cold, salt-soaked truth born on the decks of wooden sailing ships. The “devil” was the outermost seam between a vessel’s planking and the deep meant everything waiting to swallow you whole. Caulking that seam was a job for the bold. It meant hanging off the edge of the ship with nothing but rope and resolve—between danger and the infinite. That history is woven into this design.
